How safe are electric blankets?
I just bought an electric blanket for my bed for this winter. Peoples comments about wether or not these are safe are concerning me. Like "you sleep with this on?" Isnt that what its meant for? Are the new ones a fire risk?
They are safe.
My children and our bed all have electric blankets.
Just make sure it is a well known brand, not a second hand one, and check all the wires for breaks or kinks.
The only real danger is I believe if you have any health issues, which are clearly stated in the booklet with the blankets.
We have been using them for years, and never once had any problems with them.
Just make sure you turn them off when you get out of bed.
We turn ours on 15mins before we get into bed, and the bed is nice and warm and cozy.
