Need advice to help a nap of 3 years.?
He will be 4 in about a month. I often think that he could be giving up his nap, but on a day he misses his nap attitude makes me think he is still tired. He shares a room with a sibling 18 months sleeping through "normal" noise, but not a strong boy. We do not have the space to seprate and we tried our bed and the couch already. We have also tried spanking, removing the sleeping animal, setting a kitchen timer, letting him look at books, infant massage, and make them go to bed early, if they are not yet a nap. I've told him not to sleep, just be still and quiet. If he is silent and still goes to sleep, other days toys catch him out of the toy box or shoot the bear in the air. So far, it worked a couple of weeks and then stopped working. Yes, we have a regular routine and nap time, often play out before beginning the nap time or take a dip when the weather is not pleasant. Comments?
Probably just "do" with naps. My daughter just turned 3 a few months ago and has completely stopped the nap. I just gave, because if I force him to take a nap during the day out, then she is tired of the bed and stays late. I think that at 4, I'm sorry to say, as I do not want to hear, I want to give up the nap. Probably not only tired enough to take a nap and not fair to him (or her 18 months of age) to stay in a room with a sleeping baby when he is not tired. My daughter was a wonderful napper until she was 3 years, then everything stopped. Occasionally he went to his room to rest, but was not tired enough to stay in bed. She is also "upset" when she loses her nap. But I just solved it by putting to bed a little earlier. I moved to his bedtime to about half an hour. I was very sad: o (to see the end of naps during the day, but this has worked best for us. Good luck!
