Is it safe to have my 12 month old girl sleep with a pillow?

My daughter is sick with a cold and has a congested nose. Is it safe for her to sleep with a pillow to elevate her so that she may breathe better.
Carebear- Good question, I don't know if she'll stay on the pillow all night, she moves alot....

I would suggest putting the pillow under the mattress and it will help elevate her head.
